- Players can challenge either of the two players directly above them. If the challenger wins thier match. they take their opponent's position on the ladder - having lost, the "challenged" player, and the player below them, if the challenger was two places below, moves down a place.
- Participants should aim to play a match each week, or more often if they like. The minimum allowed frequency is one match every two weeks. If a participant does not play for two weeks and the participant(s) below them have played, the non-playing participant drops below the playing participant(s). This rule doesn't apply to the number one rankes player.
- Match format: two long sets (i.e. tie-break sets) to be played, with a deciding championship tie-break (first to ten points by two clear points) to be played at one set each.
- After the match the winner must inform the ladder secretary, Steve Reynolds, of the result to allow the ladder to be updated.
Matches can be played whenever there is court availability. During the summer months this will be on Social nights (Mondays and Thursdays), when courts usually become available from around 9:00 pm. During the winter months courts will also be available on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. Throughout the year at weekends (before/after Saturday afternoon social tennis and Sunday morning veterans tennis) or during daytime hours if you can play then. Please avoid using courts on social nights when other members are still waiting to play social doubles matches.
